Exploring the causes of the prevalence of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis

  06 May 2024

This study investigates the prevalence of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE) in China using data from the China Antimicrobial Resistance Detection System, China Statistical Yearbook, and China Meteorological Network. Results show regional variations in VRE resistance rates, particularly between regions with temperate and monsoon climates. The study found low resistance rates in areas with high rainfall and per capita economic income, but high rates in areas with specialized public health institutions.
